Goal: Launch a t-shirt line that promotes EMS branded merch
EMS, Eastern Mountain Sports is a retailer specializing in outdoor clothing and gear for camping, hiking, climbing, and paddling. Founded in 1967, EMS has a long history of providing quality equipment, workshops, and advice to outdoor enthusiasts. They carry their own line of products in addition to name brands. EMS wanted to create more in-house t-shirt designs for new and existing audiences that reflected the brands goal of connecting people with nature and each other.
Inspiration & Research
Our team collaborated remotely from the West Coast and Colombia. We researched and drew inspiration from the beauty and natural abundance of the Northeastern United States. We primarily visited national park websites, referenced EMS blogs and social posting immersing ourselves in the brand’s community.

Once we went over our findings we explored compositions with minimal shapes and directions that captured an organic look and feel. I chose to highlight images of the outdoors and EMS gear.
